FAQ
Frequently asked questions
I will ask you to share a little bit about what is bringing you in for psychotherapy and what you would like to focus on so that I can make sure that I am able to meet your needs.
We will also spend time answering your questions so that you can feel comfortable working together.
I will ask you follow-up questions and if I feel that I can be of help to you then we will discuss scheduling, fees, policies, telehealth practices, etc.
If I am not the right fit or if there are other logistical barriers to working together, then I will offer you a referral to another Licensed Psychologist.
Generally speaking, most sessions are scheduled once per week.
However, we may mutually agree to schedule sessions every two, four, or six weeks based on your treatment needs.
Our work together is targeted, active, and experiential. My goal is to help you efficiently develop the tools to lead a robust life. Our work is not intended to be long-term supportive counseling. In general, a course of psychotherapy at Present Mind Therapy lasts 8-16 sessions.
No, I am an out of network provider and I do not participate on insurance panels.
Many insurance companies provide out-of-network benefits. You may be able to use your benefits to reimburse a significant portion of the cost of treatment. Here is how:
1: Contact your Insurance Company. Your Insurance Company may have exclusions or require pre-authorization.
2: Pay for each individual session out-of-pocket on the day the service is provided. I will provide you with a Superbill - an Itemized Invoice or Receipt to document rendered services. If you have one, use may wish to use your flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), or health reimbursement arrangement (HRA). The cost of seeing a psychologist is often eligible for reimbursement.
3: Submit your Superbill directly to your insurance company.
4: Make copies and track all of your claims.
No, I do not. As of now, I offer online psychotherapy to residents of Colorado, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Washington, and Wyoming, exclusively.
It may be possible to practice temporarily in other states. Contact me to discuss this possibility.
